Despite these difficult days of COVID, Stephen Cooke and I have kept up with our co-hosting duties on LENS ME YOUR EARS, the film podcast — all recorded remotely. In the past while we’ve discussed films by indigenous filmmakers, courtroom dramas, and mind- and body-swap movies.
Inspired by the arrival of Mank, the new David Fincher film dropping on Netflix on Friday, our last two episodes have taken a look at the films of Orson Welles and, this week, the Fincher filmography.
On this brand new episode we go back to Alien3, and touch on Seven, Fight Club, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, but we really get into The Game, Panic Room, Zodiac, The Social Network, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and Gone Girl, as well as discuss the ups and downs of Mank, which I saw in cinemas just before they closed in Halifax due to the recent health and safety regulations.
You can listen to LENS ME YOUR EARS wherever you get fine podcasts: It’s available via Stitcher, Apple Podcasts, Anchor Podcasts, and Spotify. If you prefer old-fashioned radio, LENS ME YOUR EARS is broadcast every second Tuesday at 5:30 on CKDU 88.1 FM — so that’s tonight if you’re reading this on Tuesday, December 1st.
