Devour! The Food Film Fest happening now in Wolfville

As all readers of this blog will undoubtably be preparing to take in one of the best films of the year opening Friday in Halifax, The Florida Projectas well as check out this week’s Friday night Carbon Arc offering, The Teacher, I wanted to remind everyone that one of Nova Scotia’s most unique film-related events is going on in the Valley.

It’s Devour! The Food Film Fest, taking place in Wolfville.

The program is stuffed with workshops and wine tours for the foodies amongst us, as well as a lot of food-related short films and food-related documentaries. You’ll find a few features, too, including Beatriz At Dinner, which had a short run at the late, lamented Oxford earlier this year, and The Dinner, the new drama from Oren Moverman (Time Out Of Mind, Rampart), starring Richard Gere, Laura Linney, Steve Coogan, and Rebecca Hall. To the best of my knowledge it hasn’t had a local theatrical screening since its release in May.
