IFCs list of The Greatest Opening Title Sequences

My favourite movie franchise is probably James Bond, because even the worst of the movies has solid entertainment value. (It’s like pizza or sex. Even when it’s not great, it’s still fun.) And how much have the opening sequences of those movies informed my appreciation of them? Quite a lot, I expect. From Maurice Binder’s gun barrel sequence with the distinctive theme to the inevitable silhouettes of women jumping, dancing and diving off pistols over the title sequence, it’s cinematic comfort food. You know what you’re getting.

Anyway, that’s my clumsy way of introducing this great link, IFC’s picks of the best opening title sequences in the movies. Lots to enjoy here.
