A master songwriter, Paul Simon either came up with one of the nicest disses or one hell of a reassurance to his partner in crime, Art Garfunkel. Often debated on whether there is ill will or not between the two, (Simon and Garfunkel broke up after this album was released) there is little doubt that musically, this song is filled with beautiful harmonies and a wall of haunting, yet soaring background Ohhh’s and Ahhh’s.

No one is really quite sure why Paul Simon was The Only Living Boy In New York, but were sure glad he had the inspiration to come up with this classic.
