This past Friday night, I popped into Monte’s to catch The Fabulously Rich’s latest visit to the region. For the unacquainted, PEI’s Fabulously Rich is the preeminent Tragically Hip tribute act touring today. As someone who has been lucky enough to have attended 12+ performances by the actual Tragically Hip, it’s uncanny how great Dennis, TJ, Trevor, Greg and Craig sound covering these classic songs. Next time The Fabulously Rich plays Halifax, grab a ticket and while in the room, just close your eyes, it’s something else. Dennis Ellsworth’s performance is the embodiment of Gord himself.
