FNS // JAMZZZZZ!!!

The Darcys – “Just Here With My Friends” (Feat. Leah Fay)

Back in 2016, the Darcys dropped an indie pop-gem “Miracle” which was awash in neon-drenched synth, and now in 2018 they’ve dropped another synth’d up pop jam “Just Here With my Friends”.  This time out, the band enlisted the help of their pal Leah Fay, and it just takes this disco-inspired jam over the top. Good luck in not hitting repeat on this latest Darcys cut.

bülow – “Not a Love Song”

This is a cut that came through our mailbag, but it wasn’t until I was chauffeuring the kids and heard what I thought was a new T-Swift cut. With a little Shazaam assistance, I quickly learned it was in fact this pop jam from the Netherlands resident. It’s a song that is currently burning up radio airwaves.

Drake – “I’m Upset”

The latest Drake track could easily get by on its glorious video, which takes us back to Degrassi, and even features Jay and Silent Bob to boot. In this case, the track is a straight-up jam and did its job in piquing my interest in Aubrey’s new album Scorpion which drops today. Not that I have much hope, but if it’s anything near “I’m Upset”, then it should be alright.

Fantastic Negrito – “Plastic Hamburgers”

This track is no doubt a jam, especially for fans of the resurgence of retro-tinged rock n’ roll. If you dig acts like Gary Clark Jr, The White Stripes, and Greta Van Fleet, you’ll be right at home here. This is a scintillating blast of blues rock.

Sir Sly – “&Run”

This is one of those tunes that feels like a warm ray of sunshine, that will make you feel warm and fuzzy. It’s a great electro-infused indie jam. This is one of those cuts where I just want to roll the windows down and hit the highway.
