After thinking long and hard, and digging deep into my musical collection, I came across the best of Glenn Miller. For those who don’t know, Miller was one of the most influential big band leaders to ever walk the earth. He played, arranged and composed, some of the most recognizable, big band music back in the late 30’s and early 40’s.

I was introduced to this genre of music at a very early age. My grandfather played with local musicians, and often I would find myself sitting at the top of the basement stairs, listening to the sounds vibrating through the stairwell. Eventually the bug would hit, and at the age of 8 I found myself sitting next to my grandfather, learning how to play the Sax. In honor of him and that memory I present the oldest song I love….. “In The Mood“.
