Theory of a Deadman, Scars and Souvenirs, 604 Records

Is it wrong to hope that Theory of a Deadman will change with each impending album? For some reason, there’s always that sliver of hope that they’ve decided to stop chasing “Santa Monica” and emerge from the shadow of a certain BC band with an interesting album. Then reality sets in as you’re driving down the road thinking that you’re listening to the new Nickelback single, only to discover that it is actually the new Theory of a Deadman single seeping out of your speakers. With Scars and Souvenirs, ToaD has opted to become so much like their BC counterparts, they’ve recorded an album of their mediocre radio rock and slapped their ToaD moniker on it. Here’s hoping album number four has a distinct personality.
