JDiggz, Memoirs of a Playbwoy, Maxamus Entertainment

Can someone please pass JDiggz a dictionary, or at the very least can someone please get him to stop using Chingy’s spell checker? Simply have a glance at the track listing on Memoirs of a Playbwoy and you’ll quickly get the idea (see “Whutchu Like”, “Bad Gyal” and “Puush It Up”). However spelling is the least of his problems. The debut effort sees JDiggz attempting to pull double duty as both witty emcee and sensual R&B seducer however it is that shifting between the two genres which severely detracts from the proceedings, leaving the album with a very noticeable uneven feeling. While he is only an average emcee, the production supporting his flow deserves top billing as the beats are big, juicy and will get you moving, sadly the same can’t be said for the R&B material. This is where the disc feels clichéd and is easily the weaker of the two genres. The aforementioned reggateon infused “Puush It” and “Make It Hot” are interesting party moving tracks which leave the listener wishing the rest of the disc was as interesting.
