30 Day Facebook Challenge (Jeff Edition) – Day 5 – Favourite Slow Song

I was expecting this to come along at some point during the challenge, but did not expect it to be this soon. The only ones that popped into my head were Celine Dion’s song from Titanic and the Aerosmith song from Armageddon (and for the record, I don’t like either one of those tracks). Time to dive into jukebox. With the help of day 5 I’ve come to two conclusions.

1 – I don’t listen to slow songs…..EVER. If a slow song had a count in my iTunes, it’s because it was sandwhiched between two other songs that I would listen to all of the time (even then it had less counts than the songs on each side of it, because I would usually skip it)

2 – If I were to never get sick of an artist, I would say that artist would be none other than Billy Joel.

Which brings me to my favourite slow song. Taken from the 1983 hit album An Innocent Man, “This Night” by Billy Joel. During the 80’s, Billy Joel seemed to churn out hit after hit, thanks to his ability to write fantastically, beautiful pop melodies. This song is a perfect example of musical ear pleasure. The perfect background, harmonies from start to finish (shoo wops and doo wops everywhere), and a big, sexy, sax solo to top it off, are the highlights for me.

Some might not consider it a slow song, but it’s the closest to slow, that I listen to.
