If you ever come and visit Nova Scotia, you’ll notice that our winery and craft beer industry is BOOMING. Seriously. There’s a listing of all the places you can go. It’s called the Good Cheer Trail. There’s a passport! with STAMPS! That’s an excuse for a Fall road trip if I ever heard one.

With the amount of apples we grow here, it’s no wonder that craft cider was soon to follow!

And what cider! I loved all the cider choices when I lived in England 10 years ago, and not really being a beer drinker myself have been bemoaning the lack of good cider here. No more! There are so many choices and options for every cider drinker.

My current favourite is the Annapolis Cider Company (not being sponsored, just love!). They’re a small operation and use 100% local apples. I used their Sweet and Juicy cider for this recipe and it was perfect.

So being contrary, of course I had to make a recipe where you don’t drink the cider. You bake it!

This recipe is adapted from a beer bread recipe one of our friends gave us as a housewarming gift a lonnng time ago, and I love the sweet twist cider puts on this already moist and perfect recipe.

First step: mix all your dry ingredients in a large bowl.

Then add your wet ingredients on top, and mix in!

Pop it in the oven and let it bake while your house fills with smells you can only dream of.

It makes the most beautiful, perfect loaf! It’s so moist and delicious, and apple cider is infused into every bite.

You can either cut yourself a slice plain, or add a little butter or jam on it. Maybe some apple butter from one of our #appleweek recipes below! That’s right, it’s still Apple Week! And what until you see what’s coming up!
