Karen Myatt–Saturday July 15–Halifax Jazz Fest

Atlantic Canada’s sultry songstress Karen Myatt will make her Halifax Jazz Festival debut on Saturday, July 15.

The free performance will take place at noon at the Dartmouth World Peace Pavillion, and will be Myatt’s first local appearance since February’s 5-night stint at Neptune Theatre in Halifax for Songs of the Silver Screen.

“This is me and my band doing what we do and love best – playing jazz,” says Myatt, who will share the stage with Scott Taylor (piano), Chris Churchill (bass), Matt Myer (trumpet) and Stephanie McKeown (drums).

“Songs of the Silver Screen, and Ladies of Song, the year before, were large-scale productions. It feels great to be getting back to basics by letting these great songs simply stand on their own.”
