Common Roots Urban Farm Pumpkin Smash & Harvest Hootenanny

Thanks to Jessica McCarvell for bringing this to my attention!

Press Release: Halifax, Nova Scotia, October 29, 2013—Common Roots Urban Farm wants to end the season with a smash on Saturday November 2nd from 2-7 PM!

The second annual “Harvest Hootenanny and Pumpkin Smash” event will be filled with music performed by Xafilah, Wine Hardt, The Phonogarde and Kate & Rich, poetry readings from Open Heart Forgery, seed dating, garlic planting and a silent auction. All funds raised will go to The Common Roots Urban Farm.

Mindful Mango will be catering the afternoon with appetizers, three types of soup, hummus and bruschetta.

Last year’s Harvest Hootenanny was such a smash, we are excited to do it again this year.

Plus, we made really great compost from all the pumpkins people brought us. So, please bring us your pumpkins – says Jayme Melrose Common Roots Urban Farm Coordinator
