Petite Riviere Winery is located in the beautiful Lunenburg County. It is a great base for a South Shore road trip. They have two vineyards. One was planted in 1994, and the second in 1999. It’s a young vineyard, at least by comparison. The region’s wine growing history dates back to the 1630’s!
Petite Riviere is well known for their red wines. It’s a rarity in a province known for bright, light white wine and traditional method sparkling. In fact, 80% of the vineyard is red varietals. If you’re lucky (or you plan well) you might catch one of their popular vineyard concerts. Our biggest piece of advice? Plan lots of extra time to explore. The vineyard is close to three popular Nova Scotia beaches. Don’t miss local attractions like Indian Falls, the La Have Bakery and Best Coast Coffee Gallery.
