Exciting News About The Local Wishlist

Yes, friends, here’s exactly what you’ve been hoping to hear. We can confirm that there WILL be a Local Wishlist in 2021.

Many of you have written to tell us how important the Wishlist is to you, and how much you missed it last year. Some of you have compared it to a current-day version of the Wishbook catalogue, and said it’s what kicks off your holiday season. We know how disappointed you were that it was cancelled in 2020, and we appreciate all of the kind words in your many, many messages. We missed it too. So we’re just as thrilled as you are to welcome it back!

The 9th annual Local Wishlist will launch on November 12th, and run throughout the 6-week holiday period leading up to Christmas. Applications will be free, as always, and open to all Nova Scotia businesses and makers, from October 1st to 29th.

If you know of any local businesses or organizations that may be interested in joining us as sponsors, please pass the word along. The provincial government has decided not to sponsor our buy-local initiative this year, so we’re very much in need of community support. We care about small Nova Scotia businesses and want to do everything we can to promote them during this critical holiday season. Potential sponsors can contact us here, and we’ll send along all the details.

So yes, it’s happening. And we couldn’t be more excited. If you’re a local business that wants to participate, start working on those submissions! We can’t wait to see what you’ve got, and share it with our wonderful readers.

Cheers from all of us at the Local Wishlist!

Kate
