Trees & Trimmings

Please note: This is the archived 2019 edition of The Local Wishlist. These pages will remain online until October 29, 2021. The brand new 2021 Local Wishlist will launch here on November 12, 2021.

When it comes to local Christmas shopping, a real Nova Scotian tree or wreath is the first step. The second step is to trim that tree and deck the halls with beautiful local ornaments and decor! This section is sponsored by our partners at the Christmas Tree Council of Nova Scotia.

The Christmas Tree Council of Nova Scotia provides resources and information for the over 400 hardworking Nova Scotian Christmas tree growers and their families, who provide over 1 million Christmas trees each season. Start a family tradition today by visiting your local Choose & Cut lot to pick out your own tree. You can find information on our website about the benefits of real trees, advice on caring for your tree, where to purchase your real tree, and how to dispose of it. Be sure to check out your local Public Library to participate in their Christmas Tree Colouring contest!
