Big Spruce Brewery – Nyanza

Big Spruce is Nova Scotia’s first (and Canada’s second) certified organic on-farm brewery. They are also the first brewery to set up shop in Cape Breton. The brewery carries four regular beer, but they release regular seasonals and special brews. All of the beer at Big Spruce is unfiltered. Despite being one of the newest breweries in the province, their beer is already available at many locations across Nova Scotia, so if you can’t make it up to Cape Breton, you can still sample a glass of their organic ale.

Year Opened: 2013
Location: 64 Yankee Line Road, Baddeck, NS
Samples Available On-Site? Yes
We Recommend: Big Spruce has been slowly taking over Halifax taps since they opened, but we suggest grabbing a pitcher at Maxwell’s – They carry all four of their regular beer, and you an buy by the pitcher (trust me, you’ll want more than one glass)

Cereal Killer Stout
Kitchen Party Pale Ale
