Bear River Winery

Bear River Winery is home to the oldest vines in Nova Scotia. Some vines on the property were planted as far back as 1611. They are one of the most eco-conscious wineries in the province.  They use solar power, rainwater capture, and are the only traditional gravity fed winery in Nova Scotia. Bear River winery grows eight varieties of vinifera grapes. They produce some particularly nice red wines.

In addition to grapes, they grow figs and juicy organic peaches on the property. You can purchase peaches two for a dollar in the gift shop. You can also try samples of their wine in the gift shop. While there, take a winery and vineyard tour or an alternative energy tour.
