Cape Breton Lifestyles

Places to stay Baddeck

Traditionally, Nova Scotia’s tourism season runs from May until October, but a new set of properties in Cape Breton is looking to change that. Cape Breton Lifestyles is run by the same family that owns and operates Cape Breton Resorts, a locally owned collection of luxury resorts – The Inverary Inn, Dundee Resort and Golf Club, and Glenghorm Beach Resort.

Cape Breton is beautiful year-round!

Their new project, called Cape Breton Lifestyles, rents and sells partial and full luxury vacation homes and condos.  Each space is fully furnished with awesome amenities like fireplaces, washer/dryers, jacuzzi tubs, wrap around decks, barbecues and satellite TV.

You’re also right around the corner from Bean There Cafe, where you can get this yummy goodness!

Condo renters have access to the amenities at Cape Breton Resorts (Inverary has a gym, hot tub and pool) and a four season adventure package.  In the summer, you can kayak, use the Bell Bay Golf Course and take a pontoon boat ride.  In the winter, you can choose to curl up by the fireplace, or get outdoors with snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and cross country skiing.

We stayed at the Cape Breton Lifestyles Kildare property for two nights in April, before golf and boat season, but a little too late for winter activities. But Baddeck was a perfect base of operations for a day trip to Louisbourg, to test drive the Ford C-Max Hybrid on the Cabot Trail, check out the Alexander Graham Bell Museum and get a growler from Nova Scotia’s latest microbrewery, Big Spruce. I spent a lot of time working and reading by the fireplace, and walking the pup around the beautiful Bell Bay golf course.

The project is designed for both visitors and locals looking to invest in property in Cape Breton.   For investors, you own the space, buying as few as five weeks a year and as much as the full house.  Weeks you don’t use become income property. They are rented on your behalf with money coming back to you. Unlike cottages you don’t have to take care of the in-between, and, if you decide to sell the property down the road, Cape Breton Lifestyles will take care of resale if you want them to.

To help get the word out, they’ve been inviting anyone considering partial ownership to to spend two nights free at their Kildare Landing property.  You can also kayak, sail and golf free of charge during your stay.  It is a unique way in which Cape Breton Lifestyles is letting people experience their properties first hand and get a small taste of fractional ownership.

Cape Breton Lifestyles also has rental options that start at $1500 for the week. We were staying in one of the smaller condos which was bigger than our own (and much nicer) with room for at least one more couple.
