Soothe Your Sole – Sackville, NS (CLOSED)

Sooth Your Sole unfortunately closed their doors in 2014.

I pamper myself too much this time of year – eggnog lattes, chocolate advent calendars, lots of wine – but rarely in ways good for my body and health.  So when a new salon specializing in foot care opened up in early December, I decided to pay a visit.  Afterall, with all the holiday shopping, my feet were overdue for some TLC.

Located in the SLIC Laser Clinic in Sackville, Soothe Your Soul (sootheyoursole.ca @SootheYourSole) is a small, down to earth, specialty spa.  Through her training, and conversations with Lil McPherson (thewoodenmonkey.ca) owner Leeanne Mullins has stocked her spa with organic products that are earth and human friendly.  She also carries Pamaya, a local line of organic spa products.

When I arrived, one of the first things Leeanne did was confiscate my shoes.  At Soothe Your Sole, every express or full service receives a complimentary shoe treatment with Sterishoe.  Soothe Your Sole is the only spa using this system in Eastern Canada.  Sterishoe cleans 99.9% of germ, fungus and bacteria without the use of chemicals.

While my shoes were getting the royal treatment, I kicked up my feet to the sound of Norah Jones (no sounds of the sea here!).   I was able to select both my nail colour (a festive green by Priti NYC) and the scent for my Organic shea butter foot mask.

It was a full-service pedi; a soak, scrub, organic shea butter mask, then mini foot/leg massage, cleaning, trimming, and polish.  My favourite part was the Organic Shea Butter Mask, Soothe Your Sole’s alternative for paraffin.  My feet were smothered in  Pamaya Shea Butter and then inserted into heated, cushioned bags.  Divine!

In the end my feet were glowing and ready to take on the holiday parties.  I picked up a nail polish for touch-up’s and some soy based remover, neither of which I’ve needed yet at two weeks out.

Soothe Your Sole has a great referral program  – Your referrer gets 50% off their next treatment, so let her know how you heard about her (wink, wink).  She also has a ‘Frequent Treatment’ program – visit 5 times and your 6th time is 50% off!  There is even a punch card to slide in your wallet.
