Kababji’s Restaurant – Dartmouth, NS

When I think of Burnside, fine Lebanese cuisine with live entertainment in a well-decorated restaurant with an equally well-stocked bar isn’t the first thing that comes to my mind.  However, that’s exactly what we found when we went out for supper with friends to Kababji’s (@KababjiHalifax).

The restaurant has a deceptively ordinary exterior, but as soon as you walk through the doors you are greeted with pillars and balconies, dimmed lighting, vine-like plants and live belly dancing.

There is a large selection of beer and wine, including quite a few local options.  One of the more unique options was a beer called laughing Buddha.

We love Lebanese food and Kababji’s is definitely up there when it comes to Lebanese cuisine.  We need to make special mention of their hummus and baba ganoush, hands down some of the best we have ever had.  The portions are huge, and we liked that you could choose from a number of salads for our main course.  We also really loved the vermacilli rice.

If you don’t work over in Burnside, you can take the #53 bus over.  We suggest the bus because Kababji’s has one of those classically fun atmospheres that might inspire a drink or two.
