Sneak Peek: A Dozen Gift Ideas From The 2025 Local Wishlist!

Hello, local-loving friends! Here’s an early preview of the much-anticipated Local Wishlist, the 2025 edition of our annual buy-local holiday gift guide, filled with gift ideas that are made by and sold at independently owned businesses in Nova Scotia. The Local Wishlist is curated from hundreds of gift submissions from across the province every year. It’s free for local vendors to apply, thanks to our presenting partner and the local businesses and organizations who help to sponsor the project. Have a look!

Time is Short Whimsy Wax Seal Bracelet

A reminder to seize the day, handcrafted by Plum & Posey in Amherst using the impression of an 19th century British wax seal. So delicate! And yet a powerful design and statement.

Azure Ambrosia Perfume Oil

The sunlit calm of the sea. That’s the feeling captured in this  roll-on perfume oil made with organic oils, from Mahone Bay perfume maker Madison’s Vanity, with lychee, white petals, musk, and golden gourmand warmth.

Pup with Scarf Ornament

You don’t have to be a dog lover (but if you aren’t, why not?) to be completely charmed by these pup ornaments from Sugarhouse Ceramic, Annapolis Valley potters with fabulous style.

Linen Bobble Beanies

Ah, to be this relaxed! Maybe you need one of these bobble hats from the crochet wizards at I’m In The Loop, in Halifax. Babies don’t get to have all the cozy vibes, they make them in grownup sizes, too.

Salt Pot with Lid

So clean, so elegant, so perfectly speckled. This little salt pot would look lovely on any countertop, and don’t let it escape your notice that Halifax’s JAW Pottery makes other pieces to match.

Bucket Style Project Bag

Penelope of Yellow Petal Handmade in Upper Tantallon is the queen of project bags. These bags are so pretty that, if you don’t have a project, you need to get one right now.

Meowdy Kitten Art Print

Is it wrong to want this for your office instead of a kid’s room? Absolutely not. This vintage-style art print is from one of our favourite designers, KDP Letters in Halifax.

The Table Collection

History, meet art. These one-of-a-kind showpieces are also functional tables, made from vintage Lunenburg Foundry wooden patterns creatively repurposed by the clever folks at reFoundry.

Little Ceramic House Ornaments

These sweet little houses are from Halifax’s Eastwood Pottery, and no two are quite alike. They come in a multitude of shapes and colours, and you won’t want to pack them away when the holidays are over. You’ll find them at Argyle Fine Art.

Festive Trees

Would Rousseau Chocolatier ever let us down? Of course they have special new chocolate treats for the holidays, and you should head to their Halifax shop to buy them before they’re gone.

Quilted Crescent Bag

This cozy bag is made with quilted jacquard cotton fabric and holds all the essentials. It’s designed by the talented Andrea Tsang Jackson of Halifax’s 3rd Story Workshop.

Airstream Glamping

Modern comfort in a retro package! Gift someone with a unique mini-holiday in one of these glam refurbished beauties from Vintage Vacations. You’ll find them parked in Shubie Campground.

Sorry, that’s all you get for now! That’s it for our 2025 sneak peek, but we can’t wait to show you the full list. And it’s worth waiting for, we promise. Watch for it on November 12th.
