Panettone French Toast
A new Christmas morning tradition! Sweet panettone fried french toast style.

  • 1 whole panettone , (Motta brand if you can find it!)
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • OPTIONAL TOPPINGS: fruit: bananas and raspberries , strawberries, blueberries, whatever you like. Maple syrup. Powdered Sugar. Bacon.
  1. Slice the panettone thinly, try to make the slices as even as you can. I was able to cut about 16 pieces from one whole panettone.
  2. In a wide bowl, whisk the eggs and cinnamon together until completely mixed. (As if you were to scramble them.)
  3. Dip each slice of panettone into the egg mixture one at a time, making sure to coat both sides. Place them directly onto a hot frying pan.
  4. Fry until brown (about 2 minutes), and then flip to cook the other side until brown.
  5. Eat 'em while they're hot! Smother with all sorts of delicious fruit and don't forget the maple syrup!
