Course: Snack
Servings: 4 -5 cups
Author: Cristina
Ingredients
  • 9 medium apples , peeled, cored and roughly chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp each cloves , nutmeg, ginger, & all-spice
  • OPTIONAL: sugar to taste (~1 tsp) if the apples are a little sour
Instructions
  1. Dump your chopped apples into a crockpot.
  2. Pour the water and vanilla over the apples.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger and all-spice, and evenly spoon over the apples.
  4. Cover and set crockpot to low. Cook for 4 hours.
  5. When finished, apples should be very soft and mushy. If you like chunkier applesauce, mash with a potato masher. If you like your applesauce smoother, use an immersion blender until smooth.
