This Double Chocolate Skillet Cookie with Pecans and Salted Caramel is insanely delicious, and just the thing you need before you start all your New Year’s resolutions!
Sometimes I see things on Pinterest, and I think there is no possible way that actually works.
I have made some pretty amazing-looking Pinterest recipes that have tasted completely awful, or I discovered the trend was just that, a trend, and the food doesn’t actually taste that delicious. And the skillet cookie? There’s no way this is real. There must be something wrong, it must not cook evenly or it’s full of weird flavours or something… and why would I make a skillet cookie when I could just bake the cookies in the oven the normal way?
But yeah…
The hype for the skillet cookie is real.
It was pure torture, waiting for it to come out of the oven. Filled my house with amazing chocolate smells, and I had to wait twice as long as when I normally make these cookies. But ooooh mama, was it worth it! This skillet cookie turned out almost brownie-like… ooey-gooey heavenly middle, and an edge that’s just chewy perfection! The salted caramel and pecans make it taste like the Turtles candies, and those chocolate chunks? Magical!
Carpe Diem, my dear friends, jump in face first. (Maybe wait until it cools a bit first! No molten chocolate chip lava burns please!)
