Andre Pettipas

Earlier this month, the indominable Andre Pettipas unveiled his latest endeavour, ALT CTRL, a supergroup for the Cancon kids who grew up listening to Sloan and Our Lady Peace.   Pettipas is front and centre, handling the lead vocalist duties and playing guitar alongside drummer Jeremy Taggart (ex-OLP) and Patrick Pentland (Sloan).   The lineup is designed in a modular fashion, where players can be swapped interchangeably, so your supporting players, such as Declan Martin and Kyle Blaine, may not be available, and local players might be added to the lineup depending on availability.

This band isn’t promoting its own material; instead, it is a celebration of those juicy 90s gems indelibly etched into an entire generation of music lovers.  This show was the inaugural night of a scant 3-night Maritime run, with some Ontario dates coming later this summer.   It was an absolute blast watching this crew treat the Halifax crowd to many a sing-along, and Andre showcasing his ever-improving high-kicks.   If you get a chance, check out ALT CTRL as it is an absolute blast of nostalgia and fantastic musicianship.    Andre Pettipas continues to showcase his relentless nature and ability to evolve and grow his skill set in exciting ways.
