It’s funny what it takes sometimes to catch a band. Sometimes it’s happenstance, other times it’s a planned outing, and then sometimes the universe steps in, and with a last-minute schedule change, you get to see a local band on a stage out of province. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to see Good Dear Good on the Nova 7 sidestage in PEI on Day 2 of Sommo. In what would turn out to be the first of two shows I would see that week, the band’s rich harmonies and tight musicianship, along with clever lyricism, caught my ear and won me over. There is plenty to love, from the band’s ease and charm from the moment they walked on stage, to the time they wrapped up their infectious set.
