While the 2025 Sommo lineup featured many notable names, it wasn’t until we arrived on site on Sunday that I clued into exactly who Billianne is.   The talented singer-songwriter went viral thanks in large part to TikTok and her cover of “The Best”, which racked up millions of views and garnered the attention of such luminaries as Taylor Swift and Kelly Clarkson.   It was there that I first heard her music, and since then, Billianne has established herself as a legitimate musician and has released her debut full-length record, Modes of Transportation.    

On that Nova 7 stage, Billianne was a warm, endearing presence, completely comfortable in front of the adoring masses.   The Ontario native wowed patrons with her powerhouse vocals and her tender folk sensibilities, which belied her growing stardom.   She will be an artist we can claim we saw on the side stage at Sommo, as her name climbs higher and higher on the bill, eventually moving to the headlining slot of the main stage.
