Show Shots // Winter Warmer: BST Warmup – 01.02.25

The Winter Warmers are a true gem of the city, no matter who the guests are. Rankin MacInnis and The Broken Reeds are among the finest local acts going. It’s a testament that each week over the course of a Winter Warmer season, the Marquee Ballroom is packed with patrons ready to bask in an afternoon of exceptional music. I’ve been lucky enough to attend the Christmas Warmer (the unofficial season kick-off) in December, and I’ve caught both the Country and Big Shiny Tunes Warmup editions so far.

The plan this past weekend was to be in attendance, but some nasty bug knocked this photographer out of action and plans were dashed. I was able to wrap the editing of the Big Shiny Tunes warmup show, which was loaded with some fun acts and artists including Cole Chalifoux (of Bologna, CO), Willie Stratton (who was playing double duty as both a solo artist and as part of his new project The Boojums), pop-rocker Madeline, Peter MacInnis, Kim Carson (LAM and We Should’ve Been Plumbers), and last but not least Jacques Minard (who was filling in for the absent Calen Kinney) on fiddle. Enjoy the shots from the early February afternoon, hope to see you out at the next one.
