Show Shots // Sloan @ The Shore Club @ 12.07.24

It’s almost unfathomable that Sloan had never graced the Shore Club stage until July of 2024, but the day that the tickets went on sale, a legion of Haligonians and fans of the Murderecords founders rushed to the web to ensure that they would be there to indulge in these alt-rock gems. It’s not every day that you have the opportunity to catch a band with the status of Sloan, in such an intimate room as the restaurant turned concert venue. It was certainly a show that this longtime fan and follower of the band was not going to miss, as it was a night loaded with classic cuts from the Canadian alt-rockers that spanned the band’s entire catalogue.

Not only did Chris, Pat, Jay, Greg and Andrew treat the packed room to gems such as “Losing California”, “Money City Maniacs”, “Coax Me” and “500 Up”, they also engaged the crowd in a sing-along of the classic Casino Taxi jingle, which was a great nod to the city where the band started out. Hopefully, this is just the inaugural Sloan @ The Shore Club show, and we get to reconvene next year to do it all over again, following in the established footsteps of Matt Mays’ epic Hubbards shows.
