Halifax Pop Explosion adds Matt Mays and Partner for Countdown to Legalization party, an exclusive festival kick-off presented by Edison Cannabis Co.

On October 16th, local rocker Matt Mays and one of the most talked about indie groups this side of the boarder, Partner, take to the stage at The Marquee Ballroom.  Coming off a highly successful swing through the United States (and a three night thrashing for his annual stop at Hubbards, Shore Club) Mays has never sounded better.  Arming himself with arguably the best group of musicians around, the Once Upon A Hell Of A Time…album translates flawlessly.  This set is sure to fall into that category of hometown artist, playing said hometown at the peak of his/her prowess.  It’s a lot like seeing Billy Joel in New York City or The Beatles in Liverpool.

Partner has quietly claimed the belt of Canadian indie-rock darlings.  Last seen performing at the Polaris Music Prize Gala, this group-da-force have garnered a reputation of having more fun on stage than any other musician in the industry.  With a knack for a quirky, yet catchy, chorus and a stage presence that needs to be seen, Partner are on the fast track to becoming a household name.

Presented by Edison Cannabis Co. this event is open to all 19 and over Halifax Pop Explosion wristband holders.  If by the chance there is space for more, there could be a very limited mount of tickets available at the door.
