For me, this festival is about the music, and it’s green awareness. It’s a unique one, for it’s great musicians from a wide range of different genres, incorporating DJing, electronic, folk, hip-hop, all coming out for a good time. But it’s awesome cause it’s this festival, that brings the community together to promote this eco-friendly culture.
To get you wound up for the festival, here’s a playlist of some of the acts that will be playing at this year’s EVOLVE. Stayed tuned as we take a closer look at some of the local artists from the east coast that will be joining them.
I can’t think of many Canadian female artists that are as popular in the electronic genre, as Peaches. Her music is just so sensual, and seductive, but yet, in your face, and probably even closer. I loved her last album, “I Feel Cream”, which spawned hits like, “Talk To Me”, “I Feel Cream”, and “Showstopper”. And, I hear her live performances are full of energy. and sexy!
BADBADNOTGOOD, “Can’t Leave The Night”
I had the pleasure to check these guys out last year, in October during Halifax Pop Explosion. Their live performance was really off the hook, and I wasn’t prepared to hear this fusion of jazz & hip hop all wrapped into this nice package. Good thing they are coming back, and this time at EVOLVE.
Grandtheft is a DJ based out of Toronto. who is really well known for his bad ass tunes, with a lot of bass. This is the kinda music that will wake the neighbors, but this is the party that you’ll want to be at, when he plays at the festival.
And yes, it’s gonna be a party!
This is just a little teaser for more videos that will posting up on the website for EVOLVE. For tickets, location (Antigonish, Nova Scotia), and camping information check out, http://www.evolvefestival.com/
