R.I.P. – Phillip Seymour Hoffman

Sad news is coming out of New York today with the discovery of Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s body in his apartment.

I feel this deserves mention, for his having co-starred in Cameron Crowe’s Almost Famous portraying rock journalist Lester Bangs.

Unfortunately Hoffman had recently fallen off of the Sobriety wagon and was in rehab for a portion of 2013 for Heroin addiction. Not many details are yet known other than he was found in his bathroom with a needle in his arm.

It’s a tragic loss for the Hollywood community, as he was a fantastic character actor who appeared in such work as the aforementioned Almost Famous, as well as Boogie Nights, The Talented Mr. Ripley and The Big Lebowski. He will be missed and our thoughts go out to his family and friends on this sad day.
