Friday Night Soundtrack – November 22, 2013

With so much going on it’s super tough to find time to sit down and actually plow through the wads of new music out there.  Thankfully I’ve got some good buddies who always hook me up.  This weeks edition of the FNS is five songs that I’m absolutely loving right now and can’t get enough of.

1 – The Grapes Of Wrath – Good To See You

After a long hiatus this Canadian group decided to reunite and pump out a brand new album.  This song is a fantastic example that after a long period of time a band can still write songs that pay homage to the past while still saying hello to the future.

2 – Franz Ferdinand – Stand On The Horizon

Dipping their toes back into the waters that made them famous, Franz Ferdinands latest album is filled with dance-pop tracks that are super super catchy.  This one is my favourite of the bunch.

3 – Haim – The Wire

Three sisters who can all write, sing and play their own instruments.  Nuff said.

4 – Biffy Clyro – Stingin Belle

I first saw this group back in April when they opened for Muse in Toronto and had no idea who they were.  After that mind blowing performance I’ve had them as a regular ever since.  Great band live.

5 – The Avett Brothers – Another Is Waiting

This group has been a staple in my music library for the past five years.  This song is really the only track I dig on their newest album (the rest is just so slow).
