Friday Night Soundtrack – May 3rd, 2013

I don’t know about you, but I’m in a pretty good mood tonight. With the nice Summer weather just around the corner, and in celebration of tomorrow’s May 4th (may the 4th be with you), I thought I’d put some feel good music in the mix to this week’s Friday Night Soundtrack.

1 – The Clash – Somebody Got Murdered

What better way to start the Friday Night Soundtrack, with a song about someone getting murdered. Hey, who said death should be miserable? The Clash obviously didn’t think it needed to be. This song is pretty catchy, and personal favorite of mine from their catalog.

2 – David Bowie Modern Love

This song takes classic blues-rock, and turns it into something hip and fun. It ended up being a pretty big hit for David Bowie, and it’s a signature track of the 80’s.

3 – The Cure Close To Me

See a pattern in the tunes I’m playing? I sure do. Upbeat tunes, charismatic artists, cool looking hair do’s, or don’ts. The feel good continues, with a song that could easily be mistaken for George Michael’s “Faith”. Did I say that outloud? Meh, I’m too busy enjoying the playlist to care.

4 – George Michaels Faith

Yeah, why not.

5 – The Smiths This Charming Man

And to finish off the playlist, let’s throw in The Smiths for some good measure. You gotta love the swinging of the flowers by Morrissey. Oh, and you can’t forget that awesome guitar playing on this track from Johnny Marr. Legend, top notch!

Yep, that’s my list of 5 gracious melodies, hope you enjoyed them!
