One of my favourite aspects about music is the way which relationships can be bound, over specific moments and songs. The one that really sticks out in my head, for many reasons is Jack Johnson’s “Better Together“. This song brings me back to February 2012, when I had the pleasure of attending my sister’s wedding in The Dominican Republic. This song was played (by a family friend) as the last song of the ceremony. It fit really well with the laid back atmosphere, of both the Dominican Republic and the entire wedding party (all guests included).

I’m not sure why, but this song has been in my head for weeks now. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I’m stuck on the East Coast of Canada, it’s below freezing and I’ve been longing for a beach, or maybe it’s because I’m in the process of ironing out the details on my upcoming wedding. No matter what the reason I can say that it’s a super groovy song and anytime I do hear this song it reminds me of my sister and brother-in-law, on that beautiful day.
