If you’ve been following along with @HAFILAXtweets you already know that we’re fans of a good cover song, Gaslight Anthem has been releasing some great covers, Ben Harper has some great covers and Me First and the Gimmee Gimmees are a punk band who play nothing but covers, however when I really sat down and thought about it, one song in particular jumped out at me, and it ‘s a cover I’ve loved for well over a decade. The original song “Crazy Mary” was recorded by singer-songwriter Victoria Williams, and has a different vibe than Pearl Jam’s cover, but the weight Eddie brings to the tune adds a unique quality that makes this both a cover that may in fact exceed the original, and a cover that is my favourite.
