This may have been the longest 30 days in the history of the world, but we’ve finally reached the end of the road for this 30 Day Facebook Song Challenge. The intent was to get me to start writing again, and what it ended up doing was giving HAFILAX a much needed kick in the ass to get going, and get going it has. This is the end of this challenge, but far from the end of HAFILAX, I hope you’ve enjoyed these slices of insight into my listening habits and hope you poke around the site and check out some more of our thoughts.

This time last year had me grinding “Bonfire” by Childish “Donald Glover” Gambino which was the lead single off of his impending release Camp (#highlyrecommended), it was a track that showed the ferocity of Gambino’s flow and parlayed the success of his untitled EP into his major label debut. A lot of people will argue that “Heartbeat” was the song that broke Childish Gambino out of the underground, but go back and listen to “Freaks and Geeks” or “Bonfire” and you’ll see just where Gambino’s breakout began.
