Mobile – NY Minute

How about some love for the Canadians with this one. Hailing from Montreal, Mobile were quick to enter the music scene and just as quick to vanish. But that doesn’t mean that they didn’t have the chance to make some sort of imprint upon the industry. Being nominated for multiple Juno’s (and winning one) Mobile released six singles over a four year period. (odd, because it seems like they were around for about five minutes…not four years).

You won’t be blown away by any deep profound lyrics with this band, but what you will get is energetic, hooky, dance-rock feel, filled with with bright, poppy, overdriven guitars and a funky bass line that drives the song. New York Minute won’t go down as one of the greatest songs of an era, but it will definitely tickle your ear drums.
