Wiz Khalifa, Rolling Papers, Atlantic/WEA

<img class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-479" title="Wiz Khalifa” src=”http://www.hafilax.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/wizkhalifa-150×150.jpg”alt=””width=”150″ height=”150″ />Wiz Khalifa is riding high on a wave ofhypethanksin part to his Pittsburgh Steelers theme song “Black and Yellow” and his recent Rolling Stone cover. Rolling Papers is the hotly anticipated third studio effort to be released by the young emcee, but unfortunately the album doesn’t support the hype. The disc as a whole is vapid and uninspired, “When I’m Gone” is the gem here, but the rest of the album outweighs the solid opening track. Wiz’s flow may be tight, but Rolling Papers is another album from the modern hip-pop crew that will dissipate as quickly as the herb cloud surrounding it.
