G-Unit, TOS (Terminate on Sight), G-Unit, Interscope

T.O.S. is the sophomore effort from 50 Cent’s entourage G-Unit, and while they’ve undeniably influenced the next wave of lil’ gangsters, theirfocus has been more on their beefs and other endeavors vs. releasing an album than continuing that influence. On their debut album Beg For Mercy the beats were massive and unrelenting, and the lyrics were aggressive and angry, G-Unit were ready to strike when the iron was hot. If only the same thing could be said for T.O.S., this is an album where the sophomore jinx took a seat in the booth, as the beats are thin and sinewy while the flow seems forced and unfocused. If 50 Cent is the marquee name, why has his flow turned into mixed down mush?
