All aboard for a joyful, if fitfully funny, ride on the Glamazonian Express, a luxury bullet train across America. This outrageous, broad, and incredibly gay comedy crammed full of RuPaul Charles’ Drag Race veterans is made for fans of the show — and anyone who loved Airplane and the various movie spoofs that have followed.

Like Airplane, this one is ostensibly a disaster movie — the train is headed for a “stormaganza” — but the plot is really just a hanger for a collection of gags and skits and musical numbers supporting a tale of underdogs reaching for their dreams, specifically Jujubee and Ginger Minj as “train hostesses” who join the Galamazonian Express crew.

Cue a few roles and lot of cameos by recognizable and semi-recognizable celebs, including Jerry O’Connell, Joel McHale, Brian Jordan Alvarez, Chris Parnell, Missi Pyle, and Sarah Michelle Gellar as an actor nobody can identify. RuPaul plays Madam President Gagwell, someone who has her own history with trains.

Sadly, the good times are as front loaded as First Class — by the time we get close to the end of this train it’s really gone off the rails. Still, there’s no denying the spirit of the thing — it’s a wildly goofy trip for the discerning passenger.
