Canadian National Film Day 2016

…is today! In case any of you folks weren’t aware. Carbon Arc, where I program and volunteer, is recognizing this national celebration of homegrown film with a screening on Friday of Our Loved Ones (Les Étres Chers) at 7pm.

Tonight, the event to check out is a screening of Love That Boy, Andrea Dorfman’s 2003 Halifax-shot teen dramedy starring Nadia Litz, Adrian Dixon, and our own homegrown superstar, Ellen Page. It’s happening at Park Lane Cinemas at 7pm, and Dorfman will be there for a Q&A.

Also keep in mind that in the first week of May, Canada’s Top Ten Film Festival will be happening at the Central Library, bringing a bunch of free screenings of recent quality Canadian film. I’m struggling to find info on the screening times, but when I know I’ll share ’em with you.
