LENS ME YOUR EARS ep.08 — Music Biopics!

Another episode of the podcast Lens Me Your Ears is now live on iTunes. Go here to listen and subscribe.

This week’s edition springboards off Love & Mercy, the Brian Wilson biopic I enjoyed very much. My co-host, Stephen Cooke, had to twist my arm a little to get me on board this topic, however, because I’m generally not a huge fan of the genre—most days I’d rather watch a documentary on a musician than a dramatization of their lives. That said, in revisiting a few of these older movies, I found a few I liked more than I expected.

Among the titles we discuss: I’m Not There, 32 Short Films About Glenn Gould, The Doors, Lady Sings The Blues, La Vie En Rose, The Coalminer’s Daughter, Sweet Dreams, Control, 24-Hour-Party-People, Backbeat, Impromptu, Topsy-Turvy, and more.
