Full Steam Stout Coming to the NSLC

Go North Tours - Uncorked

It’s been a big beer news week! Between the huge announcement about provincial changes to allow brewpubs to sell beer to-go, to the subsequent announcement that Hart and Thistle is finally getting growlers, to the expansion of Boxing Rock after a mere six months in operation, it’s clear that the craft beer scene in Nova Scotia is full steam ahead…

In fact, the 2012/13 NSLC Annual Report indicates that “one out of every two bottles of craft beer sold in our stores now comes from Nova Scotia”

So it was no surprise to learn that the NSLC will be adding Full Steam Stout to their growing collection of local craft beer. Starting February 7th, Authentic Seacoast Brewing Co. Full Steam Stout will be available in 35 NSLC stores. The stout will be sold in 660 ml bottles in the Single Serve Beer section.

Back in November, The Authentic Seacoast Brewing Co. launched their Rare Bird Craft Beer Pale Ale at the NSLC.  According to a recent press release from the brewery, the beer has been selling out in a matter of hours at some NSLC locations.

The Rare Bird Craft Beer Full Steam Stout is brewed with roasted certified organic, fair trade Full Steam Coffee. The brewery describes the beer as “a richly flavoured, creamy coffee stout with notes of licorice, chocolate and roasted malt”.
In addition to the Full Steam Stout and Pale Ale, they also make a Pumpkin Ale (available at private liquor stores and at Stillwell Beer Bar) . Rare Bird Pumpkin Ale is available by the bottle in Halifax at Premier Wine
& Spirits, Bishop’s Cellar and Harvest Wines & Spirits.
