The Townhouse Brewpub and Eatery – Antigonish

Townhouse Antigonish: Last Christmas, Drew and I spent the holiday’s in London visiting relatives. While there, we made it our mission to visit as many local pubs as possible. The pubs in the UK are much different than what we have in Canada, but Townhouse Antigonish is a near replica. It’s a community supported pub that feels authentically English right down to the dartboard and crisps. They brew and serve their own hand-pumped, British style bitter ale. The menu completes the British feel with Ploughman’s Lunch and Steak n’ Ale pie. They switch it up seasonally to best use Nova Scotia’s local produce.

Year Opened: 2012

Location: 76 College Street, Antigonish, NS

Sample Trays Available? No

We Recommend: If English Ale isn’t your thing, they carry 8 microbrews from around the province. We recommend pairing it with the pickles – a mix of preserved veggies with some spice and crunch.

Townhouse Antigonish Craft Beer Line-Up:

Townhouse Antigonish British Style Bitter Ale

Terry’s Best Bitter – ABV 4.4%, IBU’s 31
