Nova Scotia Beaches: Melmerby Beach, New Glasgow

Nova Scotia Beaches NS North Shore

Summer is coming! What better way to get ready than with a series of posts on one of the best summer adventures, THE BEACH!  Read on for information on Melmerby Beach in New Glasgow, or click on the links below to find more amazing Nova Scotia Beaches.

Melmerby is, in our opinion, the best beach in the province. It is a large stretch of land (2 km) covered in cuba-worthy golden sand during the summer months. We have spent lots of time here collecting seashells and letting the pup run wild (in the colder months).

Melmerby is supervised during July and August.  It also has a number of amenities including picnic tables, a change room, salt-rinse showers, washrooms and a boat launch. There is lots of parking and a boardwalk if you are up for a little stroll.

Melmerby Beach is in Little Harbour, about 20 minutes from Downtown New Glasgow.

Our photo doesn’t do this spot jusice, but you can see a short video clip of the beach (well, of our dog letting loose on the beach) below:
