I just arrived home from a much needed week away at the beach. My family and I were able to lose ourselves (or find ourselves, depending on how you look at it) in the north shore of Nova Scotia, digging in the sand, swimming in the sea, scouring the beach for sea glass, and soaking up the sunsets and starry skies.

While I was getting a quick fix on my social media addiction one evening at the cottage, I stumbled across a new video from Shotgun Jimmie that made me laugh with summertime joy. The lyrics are lovable and highlight some classic childhood/adolescent summer moments. The animation is also irresistible. So irresistible, in fact, that I am pretty sure my 3 year old daughter maxed out my data usage watching the video over, and over, and over again on my phone.

The weather this past week in Nova Scotia was summertime perfect. I hope people of all ages were able to measure every moment with their sunglasses on.

Some people may have even been fortunate enough this past week to spend a night in Toronto and watch the constellations reveal themselves one star at a time.

If for some reason adulthood took priority last week, fear not. The stars, and the tail end of the Perseid Meteor shower (and a little Coldplay), may still be able to provide some moments that allow your childhood skin and bones to take back your summertime night.
