Maritime Metal & Hard Rock Festival 4 Preview

“ALL East…..ALL Beast!”

“The Ultimate celebration of East Coast Heavy!”

After an awesome weekend of metal & hard rock that was showcased last summer, the Maritime Metal & Hard Rock Festival are doing it all over again at the Hants County Exhibition Grounds for its fourth round, the weekend of the 22nd & 23rd of July. Last year, the festival had blown my expectations, with its amazing line-up that consisted of mostly local acts, and great choice of venue; and it brought the community together like I’ve seen no other festival do in the past.

This summer, the festival is bringing back past Maritime Metal & Hard Rock alumni to create this all-star line-up of East Coast bands, including Hitman (MMH1&2), Black Moor (MMH1&2), & Tri City Villains (MMH3). There are also a few bands that will be making their debut this year, The Wasteland Zombies & The Love Reptiles, who will be doing a surprise tribute to Motorhead.

If you are looking for a place to camp this weekend, the festival is the place to be. You can pitch a tent just outside of the festival gates, at the Hants County Exhibition Grounds. There are also a number of vendors who will supply your food and drink needs with their assortment of services. Refer to the festival website for details, including tickets, schedule, and sponsors, at maritimemetalfest.com.

Here’s our playlist of bands who will be playing at this year’s festival…

Chaos Theory

I always run into these guys at the festival, and last year they didn’t play, so I’m quite happy that they are making their return on stage this year. This is Chaos Theory‘s latest video, “We Are Disaster”, and it’s pretty tight.

Hitman

Another band making their return, with their sweet stoner metal sound is Hitman. Every time I see these guys, I’m like… “fuck yeah!”. Here’s a taste of their latest song “The Offering”.

Enemy Designed

I clearly remember seeing these guys last year at the festival, they had such a wild and fun set. The way they interacted with the crowd, there were moments when they were just joking around, and then there were moments that brought the tent into a metal & hard rock frenzy. They were sooooooo good.

Love/Hate/Love

Love/Hate/Love is a tribute band to ’90s grunge rock; they played an Alice In Chains set that was quite awesome last year, this year they will be covering Scott Weiland. It will be sweet to see what they cover, between Scott’s solo career, and when he was with Stone Temple Pilots.
