(Halifax, NS) The annual In The Dead of Winter festival returns to Halifax January 20 to 23, for it’s 12th year with an exciting lineup featuring established and rising artists from the East Coast and North America. During the four days of the festival, Halifax will host more than twenty acts, with performances at The Company House, The Bus Stop Theatre, and Alteregos Cafe.

This year’s lineup features some of North America’s finest singer-songwriters and acoustic performers including Catherine MacLellan, The Burning Hell, Donovan Woods, Fortunate Ones, Gabrielle Papillon, Steve Lambke, Taylor Ashton, The Weather Station, and Charlotte Cornfield, along with an impressive array of East Coast artists including Dana Beeler, Tyler Messick, Kayleigh O’Connor, Brianna Gosse, Leanne Hoffman, Quiet Parade, Tara Thorne, Dark for Dark, Devarrow, Layne Greene, and Owen Meany’s Batting Stance (Daniel Walker).

The festival kicks off at The Company House Wednesday, January 20 with a tribute to Tori Amos’ eclectic album, “Boys for Pele,” which turns 20 years old this month, performed by Halifax artists.

The shows at The Company House start nightly at 7:30PM, and at The Bus Stop Theatre at 8PM. Alteregos Cafe will host two songcircles each night at 7PM and 8:30PM. The Company House will present the Annual Festival Brunch on Saturday from 10:30AM to 12:30PM, which includes an all you can eat buffet. Lineups for the brunch and for the Saturday afternoon matinee and workshops are to be announced.
